University of Perpetual Help ripped Arellano, 85-66, to finally barge into the winning column in NCAA Season 99 men’s basketball at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Marcus Nitura scattered 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists to carry the fight for the Altas for their first victory after back-to-back defeats including a 76-73 loss to Lyceum the last time.
Perpetual head coach Myk Saguitguit said their defeat against the Pirates became their motivation heading to this game.
“Pinaghugutan namin iyong Lyceum game eh. Sabi ko nga, sayang may misread lang kami sa mga last part (against) them,” Saguitguit said.
“Pero sabi ko kalimutan na natin, let’s move on di na iyon maibabalik e. Now, let’s start winning again,” he added.
Nitura and Christian Pagaran led the early charge for Perpetual, leading 22-10 in the first quarter before Jade Talampas exploded for Arellano to keep the Chiefs at bay, 47-34.
But the Altas resumed their assault in the third frame, outscoring the Chiefs, 21-9, for a 68-43 lead heading into the final canto.
They led by as many as 27 points and never looked back.
Pagaran backstopped Perpetual with 17 points while Pagaran uncorked 13 points. Mark Roque registered 13 points and eight rebounds while Mark Omega had a double double effort of 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Talampas was the lone star for Arellano after finishing with 23 points. Unfortunately, his hot shooting in the first half was casted into cold spell that he only scored three points in the second half in a losing effort for the Chiefs, who fell to a 0-3 hole.
