35 arrested in Mimaropa SACLEO


CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – Thirty-five individuals were arrested, including four most wanted persons, in a three-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) in Region 4-B (Mimaropa or the Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan area).

Police Brig. Gen. Joel B. Doria, Police Regional Office 4-B chief, said 26 persons were apprehended in the intensified campaign against wanted persons from September 28 to 30.

Five suspected drug personalities were collared in four separate anti-drug operations that yielded approximately 8.68 grams of shabu and 13 grams of marijuana with an estimated value of P172,372.

Ten loose firearms were confiscated, recovered, and surrendered and six were turned in to the police for safekeeping.

Four persons were nabbed and P1,000 in bet money was seized in anti-illegal gambling operations.

Suspects and pieces of evidence were taken to apprehending units and police stations for further investigation, documentation, and proper disposition, Police Capt. Clyde Kalyawen, PRO 4-B public information chief, said.

Meanwhile, data from the Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division said crime volume in the region from September 28 to 30 went down by 20.15 percent with 31 incidents compared to 39 in the same period last year.

Of the total crimes recorded, the Peace and Order Indicator (POI) recorded a significant decrease of 44.12 percent or 15 from 34 in 2022 to 19 in 2023.

Doria commended operating units for their successful efforts in the anti-criminality drive.
