The Caloocan City government issued on Sunday, Oct. 29, the guidelines to ensure peace and order for Undas 2023.
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan urged both Caloocan residents and visiting travelers to adhere to the guidelines set by the city government to maintain peace and order during this year's observance of All Saints' and All Souls' Days.
According to the city government, some of the guidelines include specific schedules for activities.
Tomb cleaning and repainting were only permitted until Oct. 27, while burials in public cemeteries will be suspended from Oct. 29, and will resume on Nov. 2.
Furthermore, strict enforcement of prohibitions against dangerous objects, gambling, loud noise, and alcoholic drinks within cemeteries will be maintained.
“Upang mas maging taimtim, payapa, at maayos ang pag-alala at pagdalaw natin sa ating mga namayapang mahal sa buhay ngayong Undas, tiyakin po natin na sumusunod tayo sa mga panuntunan nang sa gayon ay maiwasan ang pagkakaroon ng mga ‘di inaasahang pangyayari sa loob at labas ng mga sementeryo (In order to make our visit and remembrance of our departed loved ones this Undas more solemn, peaceful, and orderly, let's ensure that we follow the guidelines to avoid unexpected incidents inside and outside cemeteries)," Malapitan said.
The city mayor also assured that the city government is prepared to address the requirements of visitors and emphasized the importance of promptly reaching out to authorities in case of emergency.
“Para sa mga emergency situation of mga kahina-hinalang pangyayari sa inyong lugar, lumapit lamang sa mga awtoridad or tumawag sa ating emergency hotlines: 888 – ALONG (25664), 09167976365, at 09477964372 (For emergency situations or suspicious incidents in your area, simply approach the authorities or call our emergency hotlines: 888-ALONG [25664], 09167976365, and 09477964372)," he said.
The LGU also provided emergency and assistance desks throughout the city, in addition to the previous initiatives by various city government departments to conduct cleaning operations in public cemeteries.
