Bishop Presto reminded the voting public to vote wisely and to choose trustworthy and dependable candidates and not to base their votes on popularity, friendship, affinity and money.

“May we choose candidates who will truly serve and not because they are our relatives or friends. Let us support those who we know will serve with integrity and are concerned with our welfare. Do not vote for candidates because of money or because of popularity,” the Church leader said over Radio Veritas.

The bishop said a good public servant must also be concerned with environmental protection especially as the world faces a climate crisis.

“As the world faces a climate crisis, a good choice would also be those who have platforms that support the protection and preservation of the environment. Choose those with community based programs that spread awareness on environmental care and protection such as waste management projects and programs that help address the worsening climate change,” said Bishop Presto.

The prelate called on the public to pray for the success of the Barangay and SK elections as well as for prosperity and peace in the country and the rest of the world.
