Pasig LGU wins 8 awards for exemplar urban governance


The Pasig City local government took home eight awards during the recently held 2023 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards: Upholding Excellence in Local Governance Towards an Inclusive, Resilient, and Safe National Capital Region (NCR).

The city government won two awards in the “High Functional” categories for achieving a 98.88 percent compliance rate in its 2023 Peace and Order Council (POC) Performance Audit, and a 85 percent rating in its 2023 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit.  

Two other awards in the “Ideal Functional” categories were for a 85.31 percent rating in its 2023 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Audit, and 10 percent rating in its 2023 Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Audit. 

The local government also won awards for its implementation of the Manila Bay Clean up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Program (MBCRPP) and the Halina't Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project. 

In addition, Barangays Pineda and Dela Paz received certificates of recognition for their performances in the HAPAG sa Barangay Project and being the first runner up of the 2023 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA), respectively. 

The awards were accepted by DILG Pasig Director Visitacion Martinez, CESO V; Office on Social Welfare and Development Head Ms. Teresa Briones; Pasig City Anti-Drug Abuse Office Head Ms. Zenaida Concepcion; City Environment and Natural Resources Office /Solid Waste Management Office representative of Mr. Allendri Angeles - Ms Jilyn Vasquez; Brgy. Pineda Punong Barangay Francisco De Leon; and Brgy. De la Paz Punong Barangay Isidro Mariano, Jr./Barangay Secretary Norben Gomez. 

The 2023 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-NCR) sought to recognize the contributions of city governments in Metro Manila in implementing national programs and policies.
