Manila city gov't offices shift to work-from-home setup on Oct. 31
The local government of Manila announced on Saturday, Oct. 28, that department offices in the city government will be on a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

However, the departments involved in the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness or response to disasters and calamities, and those who perform other vital services shall continue with their usual operations and render the necessary services in person.
Classes in public schools in the city was also shifted to online or asynchronous.
It added that the arrangement will only be implemented for the city departments that can perform jobs on WFH set-up.
The order is in line with Memorandum Circular No. 38 from the Office of the President that was signed on Oct. 27, stating that WFH arrangements in government offices shall be implemented and asynchronous classes in public schools will be conducted.
The circular aims to provide all government employees full opportunity to properly observe All Saints' Day on Nov. 1. It is also to allows them to travel to and from the different regions of the country.
Meanwhile, similar arrangements of work in private companies and private school classes are left to the discretion of their respective managements and administrations.
