BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Caraga is activating the “Lakbay Alalay” motorist assistance program in the region for All Saints’ Day.

Per directive of DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH-Caraga Director Engr. Pol M. delos Santos ordered all District Engineers (DEs) from the different District Engineering Offices (DEOs) in the five provinces and six cities in Caraga to deploy teams from 8 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, to 5 p.m. Thursday, November 2.
Delos Santos said these motorist assistance centers will provide prompt and reliable assistance to motorists and travellers.
“Every MACs should be manned by your respective personnel ready to assist of any travelers and motorists that need your help,” he said in his directive to DEs.
Delos Santos said these MACs should be strategically located and manned round-the-clock by DPWH uniformed personnel with equipment.
Bonoan had earlier ordered DPWH regional and district engineering offices nationwide to conduct routine maintenance on national roads, especially routes leading to cemeteries and churches.
DPWH offices with ongoing projects on these routes were ordered to ensure proper road safety signages and traffic advisories to prevent traffic slowdown.
