Blacklist International asserted its mastery over ECHO with a 3-1 victory in the lower bracket finals to book its third straight appearance in the M-series World Championships in the MPL Philippines Season 12 Playoffs at the EVM Convention Center on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The Codebreakers slammed the door on the Orcas’ comeback hopes in Game 4, dominating the crucial team fights in the waning minutes to also arrange a rematch with AP.Bren in the Grand Finals.
Blacklist timely adjusted to ECHO’s gameplay which drew some boost from the return to the main five of star roamer Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, first scoring on a five-man wipe at the 14th minute mark of the contest to gain the Lord and eventually the map control.
ECHO held its ground and dragged the match to the later game but a risky engagement from Yawi’s Franco proved to be too costly as Blacklist managed to turn things around with Kiel “Oheb” Soriano and Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap joining hands.
Blacklist then completed the wipeout before going on to the one-lane push to deny ECHO the chance to defend its title in the M-series Worlds.
Oheb finished with a 6-2-7 line on the Irithel while Edward provided support with a 5-3-11 line. Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcase, who will be marching to his first Worlds and MPL PH Grand Finals appearance, did his share with a 0-2-16 line on the Mathilda.
Blacklist actually looked poised to score another sweep on ECHO after taking care of the first two games – a 15-8 Game 1 win and a close 12-10 triumph in Game 2.
ECHO tried to pump some life to their cause by injecting Yawi in lieu of Jaypee “Jaypee” Cruz in the lineup. The move worked wonders as Yawi on the Khufra helped ECHO stave off elimination in Game 3 with an 11-6 win.
