2,000 security personnel deployed for BSKE in Quezon, Laguna


CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – More than 2,000 security personnel have been deployed to secure the barangay election in Quezon and Laguna on Monday, October 30.

Laguna police chief Police Col. Harold Depositar said 2,056 men from the Army 202nd Brigade, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Laguna, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Laguna, and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Laguna, and 671 resources have been tapped for the province.

Religious leaders Rev. Fr. Niel Allen G. Lopez, assistant parish priest of the Immaculate Conception Parish; Amir Hassan, imam of the Muslim community, and Pastor Ronald Allan C. Sarmiento of the Jasaan Christ Centered Church, offered blessings and prayers for them and their mission during the send-off ceremony on Friday, October 27, in Camp Gen. Paciano Rizal in this province.

The Quezon police deployed  338 additional security forces throughout voting centers in the province, said Police Col. Ledon Monte, provincial police chief. 

They  were briefed on their mission by Police Lt. Gen. Rhoderick Armamento, commander of the Area Police Command-South Luzon, in Camp Nakar in Lucena City.
