The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) presented a check for P471.5 million to the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) on Thursday, Oct. 26.

PhilHealth Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Eli Dino Santos received the check on behalf of the agency.
The amount is set to be transferred through the Bureau of Treasury with the purpose of covering PCSO's mandatory contribution for the third quarter of 2023.
These funds will then be channeled to PhilHealth, following the established procedure under the General Appropriations Act, the agency added.
The health insurer emphasized that this allocation is poised to enhance the benefit packages provided by PhilHealth, thereby improving healthcare access for millions of Filipinos.
The cooperation between PCSO and PhilHealth highlighted the synergy between various government agencies working together to support the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law's vision, ultimately aiming for a healthier and more resilient Philippines. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
