LIST: 6 Pinoy horror podcasts to listen to this Halloween

Spotify spooked Filipinos with the launch of "Narinig Mo Ba," a collection of amazing horror podcast episodes on Oct. 23 at Palacio de Memoria in Parañaque City. These podcasters used the power of audio to elevate the scare factor this spooky season.

The event provided an opportunity for the renowned Filipino filmmaker Erik Matti and Phil Disini, Spotify's podcast partner manager, to share their recommended horror stories. 

So put on your headphones, as we've compiled a list of Pinoy horror podcasts on Spotify to kickstart your spine-chilling audio journey.

1. Scary Horror Stories by Dr. NoSleep

“So, in a horror podcast I keep on listening to 'Scary Horror Stories with Dr. Roselyn.' Kasi ang ganda ng boses eh (Because the voice is so beautiful),” Erik Matti shares. This podcast features professional storytelling productions and tells bone-chilling horror stories.

2. Kwentong Takipsilim 

Erik and Phil mentioned that they both listen to "Kuwentong Takipsilim." “Ang pinakamagandang boses pala ay (The most beautiful voice is) 'Kuwentong Takipsilim,' diba (right)? But they sound like a softer radio drama,” Erik said. “'Kwentong Takipsilim' is an audio horror drama podcast storytelling show,” Phil echoed.

3. Pinoy Creepypasta

“I also listened to 'Pinoy Creepypasta,'” Erik shared. This horror podcast narrates Tagalog horror stories. All the scripts and stories that are featured are based on interviews from people who want to share their own experience with this channel.

4. Tagalog Crime Stories 

If you're fascinated by everything related to crime, "Tagalog Crime Stories" might pique your interest.

Erik shared that his favorite horror podcast is "Tagalog Crime Stories." “Hindi ko alam sino ‘yan eh, sana nga nandiyan siya [Spotify event] kasi gusto ko nga siya makilala. Gustong gusto ko ‘yong podcast kasi ang scary (I don't know who that is, but I hope they're there at the Spotify event because I really want to meet them. I really love the podcast because it's so scary).”

5. Case 64 - Casefile True Crime

Casefile is an award-winning true-crime podcast that delivers compelling stories in a professionally produced audio format. Its episodes extensively explore the details, inquiries, and legal proceedings of resolved and unresolved cases worldwide.

6. Wag Kang Lilingon 

Phil shares that he has recently been enjoying listening to “Huwag Kang Lilingon” by Grace and Mimay. “I highly recommend that podcast, if you’re really interested in macabre and different horror stories.” The podcast features two girls who have a deep interest in the bizarre and eerie, exploring and enjoying hair-raising, spine-tingling, and sleepless tales of horror, mystery, true crime, and suspense.
