Another year, another set of dashing candidates strutted the runway during the press presentation of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown 2023 at the Ramada by Wyndham Manila Central in Binondo on Oct. 25.
Embarking on its 10th year as the only pageant in the Philippines for the Filipino-Chinese community, MMCP 2023 will be the biggest celebration for the Chinoys.
For its 2023 edition, the project will be represented by 10 male and 10 female hopefuls, known as GenXins, who came from various schools and backgrounds, ranging from athletes to entertainment professionals.
"GenXin originated from Generation and Xin, which means 'new,' so we coined this word to depict the next generation Chinoys," shares CHiNOY TV President Alvin Kingson Tan.

The grand coronation of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2023 will be held at The Newport World Resorts in Pasay City on Nov. 19.

Jamille Aguila has been big advocate about the arts and embracing new ideas and perspectives. This paved the way for her path towards Industrial Design, where she eventually worked under the prestigious Kenneth Cobonpue. Outside of her career and niche hobbies, she also seeks the thrill and excitement of an adventure.Mary Grac Khue is no stranger to the limelight. She is known as the #MGtheEmcee for her Energetic, Entertaining, and Engaging on stage. Despite going through brain and spine surgery last 2022 she isnow back in the game, stronger than ever ready to "KHUnquer" new challenges. Shaun Omillo stands as a dedicated advocate for inclusivity and equal opportunities. She embodies adaptability and a fervent commitment to honoring Chinoy heritage.Glezlie Ong is an accomplished designer and savvy businesswoman. Her journey in this pageant isn't just a testament to her beauty and grace but also a reflection of her entrepreneurial spirit and design talent.Lesly Sim is an artist, nature lover, model and passionate individual who is determined to delve deeper into her Chinese heritage. Jercy Raine So is currently working as a public relations executive. Joining the pageant has made Jercy find her voice, identity, and purpose to bridge Filipino and Chinese communities in their collective pursuit of success and excellence.Allysandrea Tanis a dedicated 11-year scholar, a beacon of academic excellence. She is currently pursuing her passion for communication as a Broadcast Communication student at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.Arine Ejercito Tan is 21 years old and currently taking up International Hospitality at Enderun Colleges. She takes interest in arts and fashion, but she is more of the simple, minimalist, as close to the organic side.Mary Justine Teng is an entrepreneur, jewelry designer, pageant titleholder and an artist. In 2018, she was crowned 1st runner-up at the 50th golden edition of the Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant. Aya Ti captivates a paradox of strength and elegance. While her striking appearance may suggest a delicate exterior, she defies stereotypes with a passion for yoga, boxing, and weightlifting.

Howie Chang is someone who cherishes life’s simple pleasures. From his upbringing in Angeles City to his college years at Ateneo de Manila University. He found his love and passion for fostering understanding among diverse cultures following his solo backpacking adventure throughout Asia.Seaver Choy dreams of orchestrating a symphony of positive change in the Philippines, where his passions converge to address and mend the intricacies of societal issues. He enjoys underwater activities like scuba diving. Kenneth Co is a fun-loving 26-year-old from Tarlac City. He has a passion for performing, whether it's dancing, singing, or acting. He loves expressing himself through fashion.Steven Conde is a college student pursuing entrepreneurship at De La Salle University. He is a lifelong learner who believes in the transformative power of seizing opportunities to their fullest extent.Janoah Policarpio stepped out of his comfort zone by joining Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2023. From becoming a shy and secluded person, Janoah worked hard on his fitness, finances, and friends.Matthew Ian So is an enigmatic contender who defies expectations with an athlete's grace concealed beneath a charming smile. He is is a riddle waiting to be unraveled, leaving everyone eager to discover the captivating secrets hidden behind that disarming smile.Geremy Tanenggee is a multidisciplinary athlete with a focus on calisthenics. He is an alum of Ateneo De Manila Class of 2020, a part-time model at Mercator where he has shot for numerous international and local brand campaigns, and was a Top 10 Finalist at the Global Asian Model search 2019.Lance Tiu is raised by a single-Chinese mother. This setting inculcated him a deep sense of responsibility to contribute to their livelihood. Therefore, he strongly abides by the values such as humility, hard work, and courage.Newson Shann Uy took a big step to conquer his fears and participate in this year’s pageant as an opportunity to grow, reconnect with his roots, and to lead the modern Chinoys. He hopes that his transformative journey will inspire and empower others like him to challenge themselves and leave their comfort zones to bring about the best in them.Kay Zhang is a very energetic and sociable person. He is always keen to try new things, travel, and learn from these experiences. He loves music, pop culture, and movies. He always maintains a positive mindset regardless of the situation.
