DILG recognizes Parañaque in Urban Governance Exemplar Awards

The Parañaque city government received several awards during the 2023 Urban Governance Exemplar Award of the Department of Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

According to Mayor Eric Olivarez, the awarding was held at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galeria and was attended by City Administrator lawyer Voltaire Dela Cruz; DILG Parañaque City Director Alona Raymundo; City Environment and Natural Resources Office officer-in-charge Mark Allen Besa; Parañaque Anti-Drug Abuse Council head and acting city health assistant officer Dr. Himmler Cos; City Social Welfare and Development Department head Vivian Gabriel; City Planning Officer Engr. Benigno Rivera; and City Agriculture, Fisheries, and Aquatic Services Office head Amie Hernandez.
Olivarez said the city government was awarded as one of the top performing local government units based on Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Audit, Peace and Council Performance Audit, Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking-Violence Against Women Functionality Audit, and Local Council of the Protection of Children Functionality Audit.
He said the city government was also cited for its sustainable practices for receiving higher ratings on Fisheries Compliance Audit.
The mayor said aside from the recognition given to the Fisheries and Aquatic Services Office, they were also given P37,000 cash prize.
Olivarez said the city was also recognized for its effective implementation of Manila Bay clean-up drive, rehabilitation and preservation program.
