Razon spearheaded the 19-0 spurt for the Altas to turn the tide and frustrate the Knights who had led much of the first three quarters.

Perpetual improved to 4-6, while Letran slipped to 1-9.

Razon finished with 13 points, highlighted by his three-pointer with 2:45 left that put them ahead for good, 70-59. He also had three rebounds, five assists and five steals

Angelo Gelsano came off the bench in that telling run, while John Abis hauled 16 rebounds on top of seven points and two blocks that helped fill the massive void of starting center Mark Omega’s struggles due to health issues.

It was another heartbreaker for the Knights, who were in control for most part, including at 59-51 on a Jay Garupil layup with less than nine minutes left in the showdown.

It turned out to be their last as the Altas brought down the hammer and smashed the reigning titlists into submission.

Paolo Javillonar registered 14 points and eight rebounds while Vince Cuajao listed 11 for the Knights.

In the second game, College of St. Benilde drew strength from the reemergence of Miguel Corteza as it tripped No. 1 Mapua, 65-61.

Corteza had 17 points and nine rebounds that made up for his past poor performances and helped push the Blazers into a three-way tie for No. 4 with the Jose Rizal University Bombers and the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals on 6-4 marks.

The Cardinals sputtered to 8-2 but still clung to the solo lead.
