Actor Kier Legaspi returns to acting after a three-year hiatus via the upcoming GMA Network series "Black Rider" starring Matteo Guidicelli and Ruru Madrid.

During birthday lunch for entertainment journalist Pilar Mateo at Palm Grill Restaurant in Quezon City on Oct. 25, Kier expressed his excitement to resume his acting career after experiencing burnout.

"Huminto ako for a while kasi parang na burn-out ako sa acting. I love acting pero naramdaman ko parang na-burnout ako so I stopped. Nawala yung performance mo at init mo sa pag-arte. Nag-focus din ako sa ibang bagay like yun na nga I got married and nagtayo kami ng business ng wife ko. Ngayon bumalik na ako. I'm okay now. Na-miss ko talaga yung acting," said Kier. "I'm very happy and married. I'm also satisfied. I'm leading a quiet life now."

(I stopped for a while because I felt like I was burning out from acting. I love acting but I felt like I was burning out so I stopped. You lost your performance and your warmth in acting. I also focused on other things. I got married and my wife and I built a business. Now I'm back. I'm okay now. I really missed acting. I'm very happy and married. I'm also satisfied. I'm leading a quiet life now.)

He added: "It comes with age na rin eh. Yung paghihintay and pagpupuyat parang hindi mo na kaya. So I stopped.

(It comes with age, too. The waiting and staying awake seems like you can't do it anymore. So I stopped. I can't really do the taping one after the other. So now I choose my projects.)

Kier, 50, said that he and his wife are into the food business. "We have a restaurant. So I'm thankful and grateful sa mga in-laws ko."

In the upcoming TV series, Kier plays a kidnapper. "I'm excited because my exposure is during the pilot week. I'm happy to be part of 'Black Rider.' "

Kier said he hasn't shot a scene with Matteo, although he has taped some scenes with Ruru and Carla Abellana. "Ruru and Carla are easy to work with."

At the moment, Kier said that he and his wife were focused on their business.

"My wife is a workaholic. So hindi priority for now ang magkaroon ng anak," said Kier who mentioned that he has been married for nine years now. "Bago kami magpakasal, nine years na rin kaming boyfriend-girlfriend so technically we're 18 years together."

(My wife is a workaholic. It's okay for her not to have children. So having children is not a priority for now. Before we got married, we were boyfriend-girlfriend for nine years so technically we're 18 years together.)

Kier also described his non-showbiz wife as very private.

Magaling siyang mag-alaga," he added. (That's why I'm happy because she's good at cooking, especially adobo and sinigang. She takes care of me.)

As he pursues his acting career, the son of veteran actor Lito Legaspi says he misses his late acquaintances in showbiz.

According to Kier, actor Joko Diaz is one of his best friends in showbiz.

Kier, the younger brother of actor Zoren Legaspi, observed a difference among the stars, particularly the younger ones.

(Before, the first thing I noticed was that when the actors came to the set, they had a script in their hand. When I came to the set, I always had a script in my hand. Now, I noticed that most of them have cellphones and gadgets.)

Be a student of acting.

(That was a bit off to me because the training was different for us then. I just memorized all my lines at night. I don't want to waste people's time on the set. Now, when I come to the set, the others are too relaxed. It's okay if you can perform. But when you're going to act and you don't perform, it doesn't seem right. Be a student of acting. You can relax if you memorize (your line).

(It's really different now but it's okay. Maybe it's just a little adjustment for the newbies or new ones. I'll just share with you something my dad taught me ... to be respectful to the people on the set from the producer to the utility people. Until now I carry that with me.)
