ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo provincial government is eyeing a P5.13-billion budget for fiscal year 2024.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. has submitted to the Iloilo Provincial Board his administration’s proposed budget for the executive branch of the provincial government.
The outlay is higher than the P4.18-billion allocation for fiscal year 2023 by P19 million.
Anchored on Defensor’s Movement for Resurgent, Progressive, Globally Competitive, and Resilient Iloilo or MoRProGRes vision, the budget is focused on allocation for the implementation of development programs and boost agriculture and fishery sectors and improving water supply, transportation connectivity, tourism, and renewable energy.
Bulk of the budget is for the general fund, which is P4.17 billion, for operating expenditures, personal services, maintenance and other operating expenses, and capital outlay.
Local economic enterprises has been allocated P957.61 million, for the Iloilo Provincial Hospital and 11 other district hospitals under the management of the provincial government as well as other facilities, including the Iloilo Sports Complex.
