Gov. Fernando distributes emergency cash assistance to 5,496 flood victims in Bulacan
Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando, along with Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), led the distribution of emergency cash assistance to 5,496 Bulakenyo who were victims of the flood caused by "Typhoon Egay” and southwest monsoon rains that affected the province this year.
The distribution of the cash aid was held at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in the City of Malolos, in the province on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

It is under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Emergency Cash Transfer stategy that aims to provide immediate aid to victims of disasters and emergency situations that required intervention from the government.
A total of P28,000,167 emergency financial aid was given to the beneficiaries from the cities of Malolos, Baliwag, Meycauayan, and San Jose Del Monte and towns of Hagonoy, Paombong, Balagtas, Bocaue, Santa Maria, Calumpit, Pandi, Plaridel, Angat, DRT, Norzagaray, San Ildefonso, Obando, and San Miguel.
Fernando thanked President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. and Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rexlon “Rex” Gatchalian for the financial assistance to the flood victims saying that he hopes the beneficiaries will put it to good use.
“Kaya po kami nandito ay upang makapagbigay ng tulong sa bawat isa sa inyo. Nawa ay magamit ito (cash aid) sa maayos na pamamaraan. Sana ay makatulong ito sa inyo, gamitin ninyo ito sa matalinong paggastos. ‘Yung iba ay gamitin ninyo sa pagnenegosyo at sa pang araw-araw na pangangailangan (We are here to extend help each of you. May it (cash aid) be used in a good way. I hope this will help you, spend it wisely. Use the rest to start a business and for your daily needs), he said.
The Emergency Cash Transfer distribution will be held until Thursday, Oct. 26.
