Globe Telecom Inc. has expanded its “roam-like-a-local” GoRoam service in Malaysia to cater to international travellers who will be venturing to the country and other overseas destinations this coming peak holiday season.
The service provides “country-specific offers to match local SIM card rates” without the need for travellers to switch SIMs during their trips.
The packages align with the rates, data allotment, and validity periods of local SIMs in the respective countries, said Globe.
GoRoam in Malaysia offers 5GBs of roaming data for P800, valid for 10 days.
The telecommunication company has previously rolled out the service in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Thailand.
For Taiwan, the package is 2.4GBs of data valid for 10 days at the cost of P600. The offer for Thailand includes 15GBs of data worth P800 valid for eight days. For P600, travellers can avail of 3GBs of data in Hong Kong valid for five days.
Postpaid and prepaid customers can register via the GlobeOne app to avail of the GoRoam service.
"With GoRoam, there's no longer a need to juggle between SIM cards when traveling abroad since Globe has effectively bridged the gap in terms of convenience and compelling value. GoRoam underscores our unwavering dedication to enhance the roaming experience for Pinoy travelers," said Coco Domingo, Vice President of Postpaid and International Business at Globe.
