The Sto. Domingo Church (National Shrine of the Holy Rosary) in Quezon City is inviting the faithful to visit the shrine for the exposition of the sacred relics of saints.

The holy relics under the custody of the Sto. Domingo Convent will be on display for public veneration starting on Tuesday, Oct. 31, the eve of the Solemnity of All Saints Day, until Wednesday of the following week, Nov. 8.
On its website, the Sto. Domingo Church explained the reason behind the veneration of relics.
“On the eve of the Solemnity of All Saints, the relics of the saints under the custody of Sto. Domingo Convent will be exposed for public veneration of the faithful at the altar of Our Lady of the Rosary La Naval de Manila from Oct. 31 to Nov. 8. What are relics and why do we venerate them? Relics are physical remains or objects closely associated with saints. We do not worship the relics of saints but show deep respect and veneration towards them because we honor their fidelity to Christ and their imitation of His perfect sacrifice on the Cross,” the Sto. Domingo Church said.
“The veneration of relics is a cherished practice that dates back to the early days of the Church. In the Acts of the Apostles, we read ‘Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.’Acts 19: 11-12),” the church added.
The Sto.Domingo Church also released a prayer to be recited before the sacred relics.
Prayer before the Holy Relics of Saints:
O God, You surround us with a great cloud of witnesses in the communion of saints. We thank You for the lives of Your holy men and women, and we ask that, as we venerate their relics, we may be inspired to follow their example and grow in our faith.
May all the saints whose relics are here, pray for us and intercede on our behalf, that we may be strengthened in our Christian journey and be granted the graces we need to attain the joys of Heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
