CEU grad enters top 10 of October 2023 optometrist board exam

With an average of 86.89 percent, Mariela Coleen Torresyap Castillo from Centro Escolar University (CEU)-Manila ranked eighth in the October 2023 optometrist's licensure examination (OLE).

On Oct. 24, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that out of 226 examinees, 153 successfully passed the October 2023 OLE (Computer-Based and Paper & Pencil), held from Oct. 10 to 18.
Solana Libertad Co Cua, an examinee from Foreign University, achieved the top spot in the board exam results with an impressive score of 90.51 percent.
Following closely, Cathy Tres Reyes Octaviano, Mary Ann Gizzele Flores Guani, and Kevin Cliff Fabian Anguluan, all from Southwestern University, have ranked second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.

Furthermore, CEU-Manila achieved a 56 percent overall performance passing rate, with a total of 28 examinees successfully passing the licensure examination.

The Board of Optometry, led by its chairman, Irene Christine C. Peliño, and members Bernardita A. Garcia, Mario T. Flores Jr., and Christine S. Rodriguez, facilitated the examination, held in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Rosales.
PRC said passers may register online for their Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration from Dec. 5 to 6.
