ILOILO CITY – Fifty-eight thousand, three-hundred sixty families in Western Visayas have been approved by the Department of Social Welfare and Development-6 to rejoin the government’s Conditional Cash Transfer proverty reduction program.

“These families are still considered poor,” said Belen Gebusion, DSWD-6 regional coordinator for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Gebusion said that the DSWD-6 conducted reassessment last August following the order from DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
“These families are either on survival mode or only living in subsistence,” said Gebusion.
The province and city of Iloilo had the highest number of reactivated 4Ps beneficiaries with 17,331 families.
Negros Occidental and Bacolod City had the second highest number of reactivated 4Ps with 15,311 families, followed by 13,723 families in Capiz, 6,034 families in Aklan, 3,433 families in Antique, and 2,528 families in Guimaras.
The DSWD-6 is still processing the retroactive cash grant for the beneficiaries covering the period January to September this year.
There are 369,242 families listed as 4Ps beneficiaries in Western Visayas.
