40,000 Boholanos benefit from Abante Barangay service caravan

CEBU CITY – Close to 40,000 Boholanos have benefited from the provincial government’s Abante Barangay service caravan.

BOHOLANOS have benefited from the Abante Barangay service caravan by the provincial government.

From February 10 to August 10, the province, led by Gov. Aris Aumentado, has conducted a caravan of services in 20 localities with beneficiaries reaching up to 38,149 residents.

Caravan of services have been conducted in Villafuerte, Carmen; Campao Oriental, Getafe, San Jose, Mabini; Maitum, Catigbian; Baunos, San Isidro, San Ramon, Sagbayan; Sohoton, Calape; Imelda, Ubay; Sal-ing, Balilihan; Taguihon, Baclayon; Sudlon, Alicia; Cawayanan, Tubigon; Mayuga, Guindulman; Sikatuna, Talibon; Cantaongon, Loon; Quinapon-an, Antequera; Kauswagan, Trinidad; Poblacion, Danao; Dagohoy, Bilar, and San Agustin, Sierra Bullones.

Oscar Valles, chief of the province’s Staff External Affairs, said the caravan has allowed the province to bring basic services closer to Boholanos.

The program was cited as one of the main reasons why 61 former communist rebels decided to surrender.

Aumentado said that the provincial government is serious in bringing basic services even to most far-flung areas.

“We want to thank those who have been part of this caravan of services. This is part of the goal to achieve the province’s development agenda,” Aumentado said.

Records from Local Government Affairs showed that 15,761 have received food packs from the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare Development, while 8,913 individuals have availed of the milk-feeding program.

The dental and medical check-up program have benefited 7,679 Boholanos, while 2,522 individuals availed of various services from the provincial agriculture office.

The Education Development Center distributed school supplies to 1,234 children.
