SAGIP Party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta was able to sell good quality rice at just P35 per kilo to lucky consumers in Capas, Tarlac earlier this month.
A Facebook post from Marcoleta last Oct. 16 boasted that the particular rice was P17 cheaper than what was available on the market.
An election campaign promise of President Marcos--who the SAGIP congressman supports--is to reduce the price of rice to as low as P25 per kilo.
The rice distribution took place during the launch of Marcoleta's Adopt-a-Farmer Program in Barangay Cristo Rey, Capas, Tarlac.
(During the launch at Barangay Cristo Rey, Capas, Tarlac, Marcoleta's group sold well-milled denorado rice at the price of only P35, which is lower than P17 to the actual market price.)
"Hundreds" of Capas folk benefitted from the selling of cheap, good quality rice, the post bared.
(Marcoleta's program is in line with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos' agenda of lowering the price of rice and achieving food security.)
