EXO's Chen, wife hold wedding ceremony 3 years after registering marriage

K-pop boy band EXO member Chen and his non-celebrity wife were brimming with happiness as they held their official wedding ceremony on Oct. 22. 

Chen and his wife held the ceremony at Signiel Seoul, the only hotel located at Lotte World Tower, South Korea’s tallest building.

The wedding ceremony was held three years after Chen and his wife registered their marriage in 2020. 

All EXO members attended the ceremony including Kai, who is fulfilling his military service, D.O., Chanyeol, Xiumin, Suho and Baekhyun, Korean media reported. Chen also sang EXO’s “Don’t Go” during the ceremony. 

Netizens posted photos and videos on social media about the wedding ceremony. 

It was in January 2020 when Chen announced that he was getting married and that his girlfriend was pregnant. 

"I have a girlfriend, who I want to share the rest of my life with. While I was discussing with other EXO members and company officials about delivering the news (on my girlfriend,) a blessing came to us,” he wrote. 

According to him, "I didn't' want to take more time, so decided to take the courage. I am thankful to my members for their good wishes, and I want to thank my fans for their love. I will keep striving to reciprocate the love,” reported the Korea Times. 

Following the announcement, his wife gave birth to their first baby on April 29, 2020. While he was in the military, his wife got pregnant with their second baby, who was born on Jan. 19, 2022. Chen was discharged from the military in April 2022.
