CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 on Tuesday, October 24, announced that 6,796 police officers and personnel have been deployed to secure the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections in the Caraga region on October 30.

PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said 995 were from the regional headquarters, 770 from the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO), 971 from the Agusan del Sur PPO, 1,112 from Surigao del Norte PPO, 1,080 from Surigao del Sur PPO, 405 from Dinagat Islands PPO, 791 from Butuan City Police Office, and 672 from Regional Mobile Force Company 13.
They complement forces from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police-Special Action Force, and Department of Education.
Francisco G. Pobe, Commission on Elections-Caraga director, received the police personnel and logistical assets and underscored their substantial roles in the success of the electoral process.
The Regional Maritime Unit-13, Regional Medical and Dental Unit-13, and Regional Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit-13 all sent their personnel for deployment.
Kraft expressed his optimism that this election would become safe and secure just like in the previous electoral process.
“As guardians of our democratic ideals, we face together the challenge of ensuring the safety and security of the voters and those involved in the entire process,” he said. “The triumph of these elections is not solely our own; rather, it is a collective victory.”
