Motorcycle rider dead, 3 others hurt in Malate road mishap
A rider was killed while three others were injured in the collision of two motorcycles in Malate, Manila on Monday, Oct. 23.
The Manila Traffic And Parking Bureau (MTPB) identified the deceased motorcycle driver as Orlie Magtibay Villanueva and his injured passenger as Aldrin Magtibay Bejasa.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said the driver of the other involved motorcycle identified as Regine Mondia De Leon, 30, and her passenger, Kristine Marie Templa, 21, sustained minor injuries.
According to the police, the accident occurred at the corner of Quirino Avenue and Mabini Street in Malate at around 1:30 a.m.
Police said Villanueva was driving along the eastbound lane of Quirino Avenue when De Leon's motorcycle, coming from the westbound lane, suddenly appeared and hit him and Bejasa.
Villanueva sustained severe head injuries and was declared dead on the spot, while Bejasa suffered wounds on his arms and legs.
Police said De Leon may be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide with multiple physical injuries and damage to property.
