Celine “Ced” Domingo is taking her act to Thailand after signing with the Nakhon Ratchasima VC in the Women’s Volleyball Thailand League.

In a statement posted on social media on Monday, Oct. 23, Domingo thanked her team in the Premier Volleyball League for the support given to her as she takes a different endeavor in her career.

“As I take on greater heights, I will always remember the stepping stones that Philippine Volleyball, most especially Creamline and Rebisco have allowed me to step on,” Domingo said.

“Dreams would have just been dreams if it weren’t because of them,” she added.

The 24-year-old middle blocker also said it is an honor to represent the country by taking this opportunity to play abroad, as she looks up to athletes like Alyssa Valdez, Jaja Sandiago, Jia De Guzman, Mylene Paat, MJ Phillips and Iris Tolenada who had also taken their talents outside of the country.

“I pray that more and more dreams turn into reality as we elevate Philippine volleyball,” she wrote.

Domingo also shared her excitement to play in Thailand.

“Thailand has always been one of the famous volleyball countries and to be part of Nakhonratchasima , I know I’ll grow more and be able to give back to Philippine volleyball when I get back as a more mature and better player,” Domingo said.

A few days ago, Creamline announced that it is granting the request of Domingo to play for a foreign team.

“While this decision impacts our own team’s title chances, we believe that supporting her in achieving her personal goals and in being recognized as one of a handful of Filipina volleyball players to be invited as a foreign reinforcement is an important part of our commitment to her growth as an athlete,” the Creamline management announced in a statement.

“We understand that opportunities like these do not come often, and we want to ensure that Ceddie has the chance to explore and experience the world of volleyball to its fullest,” the statement added.

Domingo is the second player from Creamline who has been invited to play abroad after Jia De Guzman signed with the Denso Airybees in the Japan V.League.
