The Bureau of Internal Revenue's (BIR) Region 1 office, based in Calasiao, Pangasinan, is celebrating a string of recent victories in recognition of its outstanding service accomplishments.
Early this month, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) honored the region for its exceptional performance in four key human resource areas: recruitment, selection, and placement; learning and development; performance management; and rewards and recognition.
A mere week later, it's district offices in Laoag City, Vigan City, San Fernando City, Alaminos City, and Urdaneta City achieved full International Standard Organization (ISO) Certification following a successful first surveillance audit of their quality management system (QMS) for business registration processes. This prestigious recognition was granted by the United Registrar System Philippines.
The ISO Certification also extended its acknowledgment to four additional processes, including one-time transaction processing, issuance of tax clearance certificates, retrieval of batch control sheets and tax returns from Authorized Agent Banks, and the processing of tax returns at the document processing division.
It's worth noting that this same ISO Certification was conferred to the regional office last year, under the leadership of Revenue Regional Director Juicy S. Virtucio and Assistant Regional Director Rodel S. Buenaobra.
These achievements align with the BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr.'s commitment to delivering fast and high-quality service to taxpayers.
