3 dead, 3 hurt as van rams concrete bridge railing

CEBU CITY â€“ Three persons were killed and three others were injured when the van that they were riding in slammed into the concrete railing of a bridge on the national highway in Barangay Buenos Aires, Carmen, Bohol early Monday morning, October 23.

The fatalities were identified as Abelardo Cagampang, 48; Marlon Ondos, and Janice Bonbon, 35, all from Davao de Oro.

Injured were van driver Junrey Cagampang, Lucino Cagampang, and Jasper Argomes.

Police said Junrey reportedly fell asleep on the wheel which caused the vehicle to ram into the concrete railing.

The victims were taken to the Cong. Simeon Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen where three passengers were declared dead.

Police said the victims came from Panglao and were headed to visit the Chocolate Hills in Carmen when the accident happened.
