From being a theater kid to discovering her new sound, Esang de Torres has become braver and bolder in her music. Esang has just released her latest single "Hold Me" which is reminiscent of early pop-rock songs and a statement of her craft and musicality.
Moreover, the lyrics demonstrate her ability as an evolving artist and storyteller who can create relatable songs and heart-tugging honesty.
During her media roundtable interview at Polyeast Records in Quezon City last Oct. 19, Esang shared how making the song was spontaneous.
"The process of making hold me was purely spontaneous because usually, when I write songs, it's random, like in the middle of the night or just at home," Esang said.

With a pop-rock sound, she gives off a bit of teenage angst that is well-fitting for the young artist. Not only that, but her songwriting peg is a lot more mature as she sings about deciding on her feelings.
"This song is very different from the ones I did. Before, kasi I would just do musicals or broadway and pop as well. But this one, I really have plans to explore genre and be more diverse on the things that I want to write," she added.
Carving her name as one of the newest generation of young artists, Esang shared that she doesn't feel pressure on herself and will continue to do the thing she loves: singing.
"I think when it comes to the pressure, realistically speaking, I would say that I have thoughts saying that like maybe may expectations yung tao sa akin ng maging ganito, ganyan kung ano ako dati palalaguin ko lang yun. But the case here is different parang I want to be separated from that and just do what I'm really passionate about," she said.

But the case here is different, and I want to be separated from that and do what I'm really passionate about.)
In 2022, Esang released her debut single under PolyEast Records titled “Praising Hours,” her first original composition. With deep and profound lyrics, she was able to showcase her talent in songwriting as well as her love for poetry.
Impressively, her song got two nominations in the 36th Awit Awards for "Best Pop Recording" and "Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist."
