Rains to persist in Metro Manila, parts of Luzon due to 'amihan', shear line
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, Oct. 21 said rains will still prevail in most of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon and shear line.

PAGASA said Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, and Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the shear line—an area where the cold northeasterly winds and warm easterly winds converge.
Cloudy skies with light rains may also prevail over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, and Kalinga due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
PAGASA warned of flash floods and landslides in these areas due to the possibility of moderate to heavy rains.
The amihan may also bring isolated light rains to Ilocos Region and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public against flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms. (Lizst Torres Abello)
