Muntinlupa LGU hosts international gymnastics competition
The Muntinlupa City government is hosting the 8th Sonny Ty International Gymnastic Cup 2023 from Oct. 20 to 22 at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Barangay Tunasan.
“Muntinlupa is honored to once again host the Sonny Ty International Gymnastics Cup,” Mayor Ruffy Biazon said during the opening ceremony.

More than 600 delegates from Asia such as Hong Kong, Japan, India, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines are participating in this year’s competition.
The Gymnastics Cup started in 2016, with the commitment and perseverance of Sonny Ty and with the dedication and passion of his wife, coach Butch Ty.
Philippine Sports Commissioner Olivia “Bong” Coo attended the opening ceremony and encouraged young gymnasts to persevere.
“There’s a future ahead of us, to aim for greatness. Dream big, work big, and most of all win big. Always play with honor and passion,” she said.
Also attending the event were the Embassy of India First Secretary Kannan Chokalingam, Embassy of Indonesia First Secretary Mila Tarigan and City Administrator Allan Cachuela.
The competition proper will start on Oct. 21 and the awarding and closing ceremony will be Oct. 22.
