Award-winning actor Piolo Pascual has reacted to rumors that he got actress Shaina Magdayao pregnant.

"Buntis nga raw siya eh. Buti pa yung mga tao alam. Pinagtatawanan na lang namin actually. Noong isang araw nagkasama kami tapos nagpa-picture siya may kasamang bata. Sabi ko, 'o, bata na siya! I just make fun about it. People make stories to get people's attention," said Piolo as he denied rumors about Shaina's rumored pregnancy, during a media conference held at KAO Manila at World Resorts Manila in Pasay City last Thursday.

But Piolo admits that Shaina, his rumored girlfriend, has been one of his sources of inspiration "ever since."

Aside from Shaina, his other sources of inspiration are the Lord, his family, and his career.

Piolo, 46, said that he and Shaina are working together on an upcoming soap. But he refused to give more details about it.

"Let's see, but for now, I'm really busy. It's just something that I don't have any time for. So I don't want to be unfair. But I'm not dating. What you see is how we are. I hope she's not dating, too!" 

The actor, star of the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Mallari," has long been rumored to have a connection with Shaina.

Asked how it happened, Piolo said: "Busy po ako eh. And there's mutual respect. She was able to put up with me through the years, through ups and downs. We have gone through many issues but she stuck by me. She stood by me and she never wavered. That's why we're still around."

Piolo said that he received text messages and calls inquiring about Shaina's rumored pregnancy.

"Ang daming tumatawag sa akin. Sabi ko pasensya na hindi ko kayo nasabihan. Secret talaga namin eh. Sabi ko sa kanila buti pa kayo alam yan," he said.
