Marwin Dionisio sparked a fourth quarter explosion as Jose Rizal University ripped Arellano, 88-72, in the NCAA Season 99 men’s basketball tournament on Friday, Oct. 21, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Dionisio served as the sparkplug when the Heavy Bombers unloaded a 20-8 run which erected a 83-58 lead in the final frame. He finished with 21 points, while Agem Miranda and Shawn Argente added 15 points each to power JRU to its sixth win in nine outings.

Arellano had some chances to trim the margin as Jade Talampas, Ernest Geronimo and Danielle Mallari led a counterattack with under four minutes left, but the lead was too high to overcome as the Chiefs dropped to 1-8.

Mallari finished with 15 points while Talampas backstopped him with 14. Lorenz Capulong and Geronimo had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
