Several areas in Luzon will continue to experience cloudy and rainy weather due to the shear line and northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 21.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced in Metro Manila, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Camarines Norte, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, and Central Luzon due to the shear line, an area where the cold northeasterly winds and warm easterly winds converge, said PAGASA.
The northeast monsoon or “amihan” may also bring cloudy skies with light rains to the Ilocos Region and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley.
PAGASA warned of flash floods and landslides in areas affected by the shear line and northeast monsoon due to the possibility of moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public against flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms. (Lizst Torres Abello)
