A man allegedly involved in stealing a motorcycle and other items was arrested by members of the Pasig City Police Station (CPS) in a follow-up operation on Oct. 18.
Pasig police authorities identified the suspects a "Kokoy," 24.
Police said a 24-year-old sales staff filed a complaint with the police about an alleged robbery at his residence.
The victim claimed that his motorcycle parked beside his rented apartment was stolen, along with his belongings including a Casio wristwatch worth P3,000, a wallet containing P1,500, three debit cards, and his personal IDs.
He said he arrived home and slept at around 1 a.m. on Oct. 18. When he woke up, he found his sliding window was open, and the items placed on his sink and motorcycle were missing.
The victim retrieved CCTV footage from his neighbor, which reportedly showed three male individuals taking the motorcycle.
He also claimed that a 57-year-old woman told him she saw his motorcycle being driven by Kokoy and a male cohort near the residence at 4 a.m. She positively identified the motorcycle upon being shown a picture by the victim.
The suspect was pursued and arrested by operatives of the Pinagbuhatan Police Substation (SS5) and Anti-Carnapping Unit of SS5.
However, the motorcycle was not recovered by police.
The suspect is in the custody of the SS5 Anti-Carnapping Unit. He will bed charged with robbery and for violation of the Republic Act No. 10883 or "New-Anti-Carnapping Law."
Investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the other individuals involved in the robbery.
