682 cops under training recalled for BSKE duty

ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 recalled 682 policemen undergoing training in Western Visayas to augment security forces in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on October 30.

“The upcoming election is more than just a routine event. It is a cornerstone of our democratic process. It is a moment where the voice of the people is heard, and it is our responsibility to create an environment where that voice can be expressed without fear or intimidation,” said Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 chief, in their deployment ceremony in Camp Delgado, the PRO-6 headquarters, here, on Friday, October 20.

Villaflor reminded them to adhere to security personnel guidelines, prioritize personal safety, be familiar with relevant laws and procedures, and embrace the 5Cs: Coordination, communication, collaboration, commitment, and Christ, during their deployment.

These lawmen were deployed to Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

According to the PRO-6 Regional Holding and Accounting Section (RPHAS), 578 and 104 were police non-commissioned and commissioned officers, respectively.
