Vendor arrested for possession of pen gun in Tondo


A vendor was arrested for possession of a pen gun in Tondo, Manila, on Friday afternoon, Oct. 20.

The Manila Police District (MPD)-Moriones Police Station (PS-2) identified the suspect as Henry, 40, a resident of Barangay 254 in Tondo.

The suspect was nabbed during the Enhanced Managing Police Operation (EMPO) by the personnel of PS-2 Asuncion Police Community Precinct operatives.

Based on the police report, Henry was arrested at the coner of Claro M. Recto Avenue and Delpan Street in Tondo around 2 p.m. after the authorities spotted him standing on the side of the street, shouting loudly while holding a pen gun.

They approached and asked the suspect for gun records, but he failed to present documents.

Police confiscated from his possession the pen gun and one 9-millimeter ammunition.
 

The suspect is now under police custody for violation of Section 28 and Article V of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (Unlawful Possession of Firearms and Ammunition), in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
