Parañaque LGU to transfer remains at city's public cemetery to mass grave
The Parañaque City government announced that niches identified as inactive or with unsettled account at the Himlayang Palanyag will be transferred to a mass grave to give way to the development of the public cemetery.
The city’s Special Services Office (SSO) announced on Thursday, Oct. 19, the city government's plans to improve and develop the Himlayang Palanyag under the leadership of Mayor Eric Olivarez.
It was learned that the public cemetery has no more space for additional niches which led to the decision of the city government to exhume identified remains and transfer them to a mass grave.
The SSO was tasked to identify dormant renters of niches in the public cemetery which may be subject to disinterment or exhumation.
Relatives of the deceased with unsettled accounts were given 30 days to settle them.
The SSO said failure to coordinate with their office upon receipt of the notice will lead to the exhumation of the remains pursuant to existing rules and regulation for transfer to a mass grave.
The SSO urged relatives of the deceased whose niches have been identified as inactive or with unsettled account to visit their office at Himlayang Palanyag located at Kabihasnan Barangay San Dionisio from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
