NPD, QCPD seize P1-M shabu, collars six drug peddlers in buy-busts


Operatives from Northern Police District (NPD) and Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confiscated P1,041,420 worth of alleged shabu and arrested six drug peddlers in separate buy-bust operations in Caloocan, Navotas and Quezon Cities on Tuesday to Friday, Oct. 17 to Oct. 20.

The QCPD’s District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) arrested Emilio Tayao, 25, in front of a house on Warayan St. in Sitio San Roque, Brgy. Bagong Pagasa, Quezon City, around 12:30 a.m. on Oct.19.

In coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), DDEU operatives conducted a buy-bust after a concerned citizen tipped off the drug peddling activity of the suspect.

A police officer acted as a poseur buyer and bought P20,000 worth of alleged shabu from the suspect, which led to his arrest.

Confiscated from Tayao were around 55 grams of shabu with a street value of  P374,000.00, a coin purse, a cellular phone, an identification card, and the buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, NPD’s Caloocan City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (CCPS-DEU) operatives apprehended alias Ian, 19, a resident of Barangay 148, Caloocan City.

Report showed that the operatives conducted an entrapment operation at around 12:43 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, on Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Barangay 94, Caloocan City, which led to the arrest of the suspect.

Police confiscated from the suspect around 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000, and the buy-bust money.

Other teams from Caloocan City Police District (CCPS) and Navotas City Police District (NCPS) conducted a sting that resulted in the arrest of four other drug peddlers and seized around P327,420 worth of “shabu.”

The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
