Coolpad COOL 20+
Smartphones have significantly improved over the last decade. Mid-ranged phones are like some flagships, and some entry-level devices are comparable to the mid-range segment. There are so many to choose from. And, if you're eyeing a specific specs sheet, you’re bound to find one or three along the way.
To put it simply, smartphones are broad; and it’s getting broader with Coolpad and its newest smartphones, the CP12 and the COOL 20+. Coolpad is building a stronger presence in the country by putting out devices with a respectable specs sheet that fits in a lot of people’s budgets.
The Coolpad CP12 features a 6.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1600x720. It has 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM, which you can extend by an additional 4GB. It’s powered by a Unisoc SC9863A processor, which would let you play some games like Call of Duty Mobile and Mobile Legends.
What I like about the CP12 is the 4500mAh battery, which should get most users through the day. The CP12 has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock as well.

Rear cameras include a 13MP and 2MP for macro, which are decent in performance. We’re slowly edging toward a smartphone era where more and more cameras are being more capable. We’re not saying the CP12 can take incredible photos and videos, but they’re producing images that are surprisingly better than expected for phones at this price range.
Now we move on to the COOL 20+, the bearer of the Coolpad’s own name. This device features the same 6.5-inch display with 1600x720 resolution and a 4500mAh battery. However, you’re getting 6GB of RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a 48MP rear camera, which does take a lot more impressive photos and videos.
Under the COOL 20+ is a MediaTek Gelio G85 processor, which will let you play more games with less fussing around.
If you’re under a strict budget, Coolpad is definitely a strong option. Can't decide between the COOL 20+ and the CP12? Just think which feature would you need more? If it’s more for entertainment, YouTube, Netflix, or Disney+ with the occasional doomscrolling in social media, then the CP12 might work best for you. But if you’re for a more challenging and demanding use such as gaming, then it goes without saying, the COOL 20+ is here opening its arms to be picked up.
The aim of Coolpad here is to introduce devices people can enjoy without breaking the bank. The COOL 20+ is priced at P5,699 and the CP12 is priced at P3,899 and P4,299 for its variant.
