Netizens were quick to react over how fast election materials have flooded the news feed of their Facebook accounts since the start of the campaign period for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on Thursday, Oct.19.

"Nakaka panibago mag Facebook (It feels different here on Facebook)," said Josh Gomba on his post wherein he shared screenshots of Facebook stories showing different campaign posters of BSKE bets uploaded by his friends. His post has gone viral and has now garnered 49,000 shares and 13,000 reactions.
Another Facebook user, Robby Yabut Bonifacio, said that he's getting tired of scrolling on the social media app, stating that he keeps getting transported to different barangays.
One person hilariously mentioned that they literally woke up that day and learned that a great deal of their Facebook friends had suddenly become "honest and dependable".
"Natulog lang ako, paggising ko marami na biglang maasahan at mapagkakatiwalaan (I just slept, and when I woke up all of a sudden a lot of people became honest and dependable)," one Facebook user said.
Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said on Friday, Oct. 20, that in the country, there are no social media regulations when it comes to campaigning, unless it gets abused which will then constitute it as Internet libel.
"Pero dun sa pagregulate sa ginagawa nila, wala po tayong kapangyarihan doon dahil violation po yan ng freedom of expression (But when it comes to regulating what they're doing, we have no power over that since it will be a violation of freedom of expression)," he said.
"Ang puwede lang po maregulate ng Comelec yung panggastos ng mga kandidato sa social media lalo na yung boosting na tinatawag (What we can regulate in Comelec is the amount that the candidates are spending on social media or the so-called boosting)," he added.
Garcia had earlier warned candidates that the poll body will be strict in enforcing its rules.
The BSKE campaign period will be until Oct. 28.
