SAN JOSE CITY, Nueva Ecija – The Commission on Elections on Friday, October 20, started removing illegal barangay election campaign materials posted across this province under “Oplan: Baklas.”
Police provided security during the operation.

Police Col. Richard V. Caballero, Nueva Ecija police chief, said the presence of police personnel in the removal of illegal campaign materials assures the public of authorities' commitment to a fair and transparent electoral process.
“As the electoral season unfolds, NEPPO remains committed in upholding the law, in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Comelec in ensuring that the electoral process remains free from irregularities,” Caballero said.
