Cavite imposes curfew, liquor ban for BSKE


CAVITE – The provincial government is implementing a curfew and liquor ban from Oct. 19 to 30 in view of the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

Provincial Ordinance No. 420-2023, approved by Gov. Jonvic Remullla on Thursday, Oct. 19, imposes curfew hours from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the following day.

The ordinance applies to all residents, regardless of age, and only exempts the following individuals:

  • Election officials and personnel performing official duties related to the BSKE
  • Law enforcement officers
  • Individuals traveling to or from work or emergency situations
  • Individuals with parental or guardian permission for essential activities

Provincial Ordinance No. 421-2023, meanwhile, imposes a liquor ban in Cavite.

From Oct. 19 to 30, the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic drinks are prohibited.

Both ordinances were passed to maintain public safety and order during the BSKE.
