Batangas police chief Police Col. Samson Belmonte said there is one checkpoint for every town until the end of the election period on November 29.

Belmote assured they are in full force until the elections conclude.

"I am calling on the public to cooperate in our duties so that we can conduct the upcoming elections smoothly. You can count on your police officers to do their best to keep this year's elections safe and peaceful,” Belmonte said.

Belmote said 74 percent of the total police force in the province has been deployed to various areas to ensure the peaceful and safe conduct of the elections.

They are complemented by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Belmonte said.
