Student dies in motorcycle-truck collision

BATANGAS CITY – A 21-year-old student died in a  motorcycle-truck collision before dawn on Sunday, October 1, in Barangay Pallocan West here.

Police identified the victim as Julius Gabriel Dipasupil, single, resident of Barangay Santa Rita Karsada, this city.

Investigation said driver Bernie de Ocampo, 40, of Barangay San Antonio, San Pascual, Batangas, lost control of the steering wheel of a tanker truck with license plates WGL-770 on the national road and occupied the opposite lane. 

The truck’s left front bumper hit the front of Dipasupil’s Yamaha NMax motorcycle with license plate D976FJ.

Dipasupil sustained serious injuries and was declared dead by rescuers.

The suspect suffered from hypertension and was taken to the hospital.
