Security guard tagged in colleague's slay in Caloocan nabbed in QC
A security guard who allegedly shot and killed a fellow guard in Caloocan City was arrested by the police in Quezon City on Sunday, Oct. 1.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Novaliches Station (PS 4) identified the suspect as Romnick Abayon Perote, 34, of Barangay 171, Bagumbong, Caloocan City.
According to the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS), the incident happened in front of the gate of Parkview Heights Exclusive Village in Barangay 171 at around 8:35 p.m. on Sunday.
The suspect and the victim, Joel Moreno, 48, also from the same barangay, were both security guards of the village.

Initial investigation disclosed that Perote, who was allegedly under the influence of liquor, and Moreno had a heated argument before the incident.
The victim confronted and hit the suspect with a broom, reminding him that their boss prohibited him from coming to the area when he is drunk.
Perote then took Moreno's firearm from his locker and shot the victim in the back, killing him. The suspect fled.
Members of the CCPS coordinated with the QCPD for the arrest of the suspect.
QCPD PS 4 operatives conducted a checkpoint at the corner of Susano Road and Austria Street in Barangay Nova Proper, Novaliches, Quezon City, where they caught of Perote riding a passenger jeepney.
Confiscated from the him was a .38-caliber Armscor 202 loaded with five live ammunition.
Police also recovered a fired bullet in the crime scene.
The suspect was turned over to the CCPS for investigation.
Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspect, the CCPS said.
