'Moving,' 'Mask Girl,' 'The Killing Vote' among top favorite TV, OTT programs in September

Disney+’s series “Moving” topped a survey for favorite TV and video streaming programs for the month of September in South Korea.

Polling firm Gallup Korea has been surveying and publishing the favorite TV programs since January 2013.

With the rise in popularity of video streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and TVING, Gallup Korea has included over-the-top (OTT) programs in its monthly survey starting January 2023.

Polling firm Gallup Korea released the results of its monthly survey for September, which asked 1,001 respondents aged 18 and above in South Korea to name their favorite broadcast programs. The survey was conducted from Sept. 19 to 21.

“Moving” has been chosen as the No. 1 favorite broadcast video program in September, garnering 5.2 percent, jumping from 17th place in August.

It stars Ryu Seung-ryong, Zo In-sung, Han Hyo-joo, Cha Tae-hyun, Lee Jung-ha, Go Youn-jung, and Kim Do-hoon.

Netflix’s “Mask Girl” placed 11th with 1.3 percent, up from 14th place in August.

Prime Video’s “The Killing Vote” took 17th place with 1 percent and entered the survey for the first time.

Here are the top 10 favorite TV and OTT programs in South Korea in September, according to Gallup Korea:

1. Moving (drama, Disney+) - 5.2%

2. I Am Solo (entertainment, ENA) - 3.3%

3. You Quiz on the Block (entertainment, tvN) - 2.7%

4. I Live Alone (entertainment, MBC) - 2.3%

5. Running Man (entertainment, SBS) - 2.1%

6. Elegant Empire (drama, KBS2) - 1.8%

7. My Dearest (drama, MBC) - 1.5%

8. My Little Old Boy (entertainment, SBS) - 1.4%

- Unanswered Questions (current affairs, SBS) - 1.4%

- Behind Your Touch (drama, JTBC) - 1.4%

11. Mask Girl (drama, Netflix) - 1.3%

12. 2 Days & 1 Night (entertainment, KBS2) - 1.2%

14. The Real Has Come! (drama, KBS2) - 1.1%

- I Like Tuesday Nights (entertainment, TV Chosun) - 1.1%
