Man with bladed weapon arrested in Pasay City

A man creating scandal in front of a school while armed with a 25-inch bolo was arrested in Pasay City on Sunday, Oct. 1.

City police chief Col. Froilan Uy said the suspect, identified as Carlito Niegas, 28 alias “Kier," was arrested at around 10:30 p.m. in front of Marcelo Marcela Elementary School located along Apelo Cruz Extension, Barangay 174, Malibay Pasay City.

Uy said concerned citizens called up the Malibay police substation and asked for help in arresting Niegas who was displaying unruly behavior and challenging a certain Jose Orcena Jr. into a fist fight.

He said the suspect brandished his bolo as he sowed fear in the community.

The city police chief said responding policemen immediately arrested Niegas and was brought to the police custodial facility.

Uy said the police filed charges of alarm and scandal, violation of BP 6 in Relation to RA 7166 (Omnibus Election Code) and oral defamation against the suspect.
