The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has committed to deploy sufficient number of personnel to assist in the traffic flow during the Holiday season when huge volume of vehicles are expected to hit the road in Metro Manila and other urban areas.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the agency will meet with other law enforcement agencies that include the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to map out plans in managing traffic situation.
“As in the past years, we expect huge volume of vehicles on the road and large number of people in the terminals. The LTO will be part of the move to ensure the proper management of traffic,” said Mendoza.
“I will ensure that your LTO will make the most of our personnel to enforce traffic rules and assist our motorists where they are needed the most,” he added.
Aside from the traffic, Mendoza said the agency will also monitor the safety and security of motorists and the riding public from accidents and other untoward incidents.
Mendoza, meanwhile, urged drivers to be patient and plan ahead their travels and trips by checking alternative routes to avoid heavy traffic.
